ECU’s Home Finale vs. Campbell Canceled Due to Weather

Final Home Game Washed Out

East Carolina’s scheduled home finale against Campbell was canceled Tuesday due to inclement weather in the Greenville area. The non-conference matchup was set for this evening at Clark-LeClair Stadium and will not be made up.

The cancellation brings a quiet end to ECU’s 2025 home schedule and sends the Pirates into the final weekend of the regular season on the road.

A Rare Postseason Position Under Godwin

The Pirates now sit at 28-23 overall and 12-12 in American Athletic Conference play with an RPI of 82 , currently outside of at-large NCAA Tournament consideration.

It marks the first time since 2017 that ECU is not in postseason position under head coach Cliff Godwin. That 2017 squad finished 32-28 and made a run to the AAC Tournament championship game but ultimately missed the field.

This year’s team has already clinched a spot in the conference tournament but will need a strong showing in Clearwater to extend its season beyond that.

Home Woes Highlight 2024 Struggles

East Carolina finished the regular season 16-13 at home, posting a .552 winning percentage at Clark-LeClair Stadium , the program’s lowest home mark since 2013, when the Pirates went 18-15 (.545).

While there were bright spots throughout the spring, inconsistency and missed opportunities kept ECU from finding the rhythm it has often had on its home turf.

Final Series Set at USF

The Pirates will conclude the regular season with a Thursday-through-Saturday road series at USF in Tampa, Fla. While ECU has already secured a spot in the AAC Tournament, this weekend’s series will be key in determining seeding for the double-elimination bracket in Clearwater.
