Pirate Pulse Predictions: ECU vs. Charlotte
It’s homecoming week in Greenville, and the Pirates return to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium riding high after back-to-back dominant wins. ECU (5–3, 3–1 American) hosts Charlotte (1–7, 0–5) on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET in what marks the program’s first afternoon home game since 2022.
The Pirates are playing their best football of the season on both sides of the ball, while the 49ers continue to struggle under first-year head coach Tim Albin. ECU will look to grab its first-ever win over Charlotte and keep building momentum heading into the final stretch of November.
Here’s how the Pirate Pulse crew sees it playing out:
Adam Johnson:
“This one won’t be close. They can’t hang with us throwing the ball and our run defense is playing way too well. Pirates get their first win over Charlotte — 56–10 ECU.”
Trey Scott:
“BTA time! ECU wins by 50-plus and adds another brick to their American Conference championship run.”
Chance Scott:
“Look, it’s been a dark day the last two times ECU lost to Charlotte. This is a different Pirate squad than the last two. I expect Blake Harrell to have the guys ready to go and not leave any doubts today. The Pirates win 55–3 and set up a massive Senior Night matchup against Memphis.”
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN+ as the Pirates look to keep rolling and continue their push toward the top of the American Conference standings.
