Three-Star Linebacker Jeremiah Roux Commits to East Carolina
East Carolina continues to build defensive depth in the 2026 recruiting class, earning a commitment from versatile three-star athlete Jeremiah Roux of Mundy’s Mill High School (Jonesboro, Ga.). The 6-foot-3, 215-pound standout is expected to line up at linebacker for the Pirates, despite playing multiple positions at the high school level.
Roux announced his decision Monday after official visits to South Florida on June 13 and East Carolina on June 19. Both schools were finalists from his original top 8, which also featured Troy, Memphis, Western Kentucky, UAB, Georgia State, and Georgia Tech. His offer list also included programs like Appalachian State, Liberty, Wake Forest, Buffalo, and Kennesaw State.
Rated an 85 overall by 247Sports, Roux holds three-star status, ranking as the No. 114 athlete nationally and the No. 154 player in Georgia, a state loaded with elite talent.
In 2024, Roux proved just how dynamic he could be. Offensively, he caught 38 passes for 540 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 14.2 yards per reception. On defense, he recorded 34 tackles and one tackle for loss. He also served as his team’s punter and returned kickoffs, showing his all-around value. His efforts earned him all-state honorable mention recognition.
While Roux has shown flashes as a pass-catcher with impressive run-after-the-catch ability, ECU’s staff believes his long-term future is on defense. With his frame, speed, and lateral movement, he projects as a high-upside linebacker who can fill multiple roles in the Pirates’ scheme. His fluidity and length make him an intriguing player who could become a difference-maker at the next level especially as he continues to add muscle without sacrificing quickness.
Roux becomes the fifth Georgia native to commit in the 2026 class, joining linebacker Chad Fairchild, safety Djimon Tucker, defensive back David Coleman Jr., and wide receiver Dawson Quarterman. With Roux now in the fold, ECU holds 11 total commitments for 2026 and continues to target speed, versatility, and length on defense.
